Our impact

We want to understand the difference we make to people and communities in Swindon so we can improve and develop our services.

Making a difference

“Threshold helped me out when I had nowhere else to go and supported me when nobody else has. They have really changed my life and my way of thinking. They made me realise I do have reasons to keep going, helping me rebuild my life and move forward towards independence.”

Residents’ feedback helps us to improve our services and ensure we are meeting their needs. We regularly run focus groups and surveys where they can tell us what is going well and what could be better.

This year, 80% of residents told us that they received support to manage and sustain their tenancy, including help to improve their mental health, motivation, drug and alcohol use, budgeting and finances, relationships, self-care and living skills. Residents said they can count on their support worker to get things done and follow up on actions, and that the support workers are fair, supportive, helpful and have regular meetings with them. They said that lots of things have improved since the new management team has been in place.

  • 90% of our residents feel that Threshold provides them with a safe place to live.
  • 80% say that Threshold supports them to address their challenges and achieve their personal goals
  • 85% told us that Threshold offers them a pathway to living independently

Jacob

This short film is based on the true story of ‘Jacob’, whose difficult relationship with his parents led to him becoming homeless. Threshold supported him through a difficult journey with his mental health as he progressed towards acceptance.

Feedback from partners

We also seek feedback from other organisations in Swindon to ensure we are working together effectively to meet people’s needs:

“We have been extremely pleased with the partnership and the strength of the working relationships that have been built. Communication is consistently honest, clear and constructive, and attendance at forums has been excellent, with open information sharing that supports strong joint working.”

“Threshold could not be more helpful to the Central South Swindon Police team. Professional, helpful, supportive, EXCELLENT knowledge of everything. The team have been great - responsive, prompt, and so very helpful.”

“The new team at Threshold means that the approach to effective partnership working is greatly improved. They are consistently approachable, proactive, and clear in communication.”

“Collaborating with Threshold has been incredibly positive. The team is very proactive and easy to work with. Communication has always been clear and timely, and the support for our work has been excellent. From start to finish, it has felt purposeful, well organised, and genuinely focused on making a difference.”

Homelessness on our doorstep

Homelessness is destroying lives in our community. A thousand people in Swindon do not have a home and many more households are at risk. Anyone can be affected by homelessness.

Please help us to end homelessness in Swindon.
