Location: Swindon (with remote meeting options)
Commitment: Part-time, voluntary (approx. 6-8 meetings per year)
Are you passionate about ending homelessness and making a real difference in your community? Threshold, a charity for people who are homeless in Swindon, is seeking new trustees to join our board and help transform lives.
About us:
We’ve been supporting people affected by homelessness in Swindon for over 50 years, offering them a safe place to live and personalised support. Evidence shows that with the right support at the right time, people can overcome homelessness and work towards a positive future.
The Role:
As a Trustee, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the charity, ensuring we continue to provide the best possible services to people who are homeless in Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills, knowledge and expertise to help guide our future growth and success.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and governance for the charity
- Ensure Threshold operates in compliance with its legal and regulatory obligations
- Contribute to the development of the charity’s long-term strategy and vision
- Monitor financial performance and ensure sound financial management
- Act as an ambassador for Threshold and promote our work within the community
What we’re looking for: We welcome applications from individuals with a range of professional backgrounds, including (but not limited to):
- Leadership, finance, legal, or HR expertise
- Housing and homelessness sector experience
- Marketing, PR, or fundraising skills
- Knowledge of charity governance and compliance
No previous trustee experience is necessary—what’s most important is your commitment to ending homelessness and willingness to use your skills to drive positive change.
