Contract: Permanent, full-time

Pay: £25,119 - £29,770 (dependent on experience)

About Us

Threshold provides people affected by homelessness in Swindon with a safe place to live and personalised support. We are a small, supportive team who are passionate about ending homelessness in Swindon.

The Role

We’re looking for a Housing Compliance Officer to join our finance and compliance team. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Threshold to ensure that our housing and support services are delivered to the highest possible standard.

You will be responsible for ensuring all our properties (supported accommodation, office and warehouse) remain safe, compliant and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting regular property inspections and ensuring timely turnaround of vacant rooms
  • Coordinating and following up on repairs, maintenance tasks, and compliance checks
  • Monitoring housing legislation and safety standards (e.g. gas, fire, legionella)
  • Maintaining compliance registers and records
  • Overseeing contractor delivery and ensuring quality of work
  • Providing excellent customer service and resolving housing-related resident issues
  • Representing Threshold in meetings with landlords, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous service improvement initiatives across our housing services

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in the housing sector, particularly with property compliance
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office 365 and property management systems
  • CIH Level 3 in Housing Maintenance, Lettings, or Housing Services, or equivalent qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, City & Guilds) or experience.
  • A full driving licence and access to a car (essential for travel across Swindon)
